WORLD FOOD DAY”  CELEBRATION

  ROTARY CLUB KOPPAL  celebrated World Food Day in association with Agriculture Input dealer’s Association Koppal and Agriculture Extension Education Unit Koppal on 29th October 2014 in Auditorium, D C Office Koppal  In the divine presence of Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji  of koppal Gavimath . He said Food, water and good talk are real three Gems to lead peaceful life.
                       Chief Guests Dr K C Raghu ,Food technologist PRESTINE Industries Bangalore   stressed on the English saying ‘one has to eat to live but not live to eat’.  Small farmers need to be focused and nourished for the sustainable agriculture.
                      Another Chief Guest Dr Narendra Rai Derla from Mangalore spoke in detail about Food diversity and showed more concern about nutritional aspect of food. Food diversity is seen more in rural folks than urbanites.
                       Dr M B Patil Scientist in his introductory note explained the importance of Food Day Celebration. Now more than 150 countries in the world are observing the on 16th October  to combat hunger and improve in food quality.
                        Rtn Veeranna Kamatar Presided over the function and told that World Food Prize instituted during 1987 and 1st Scientist to receive this prize is Dr M S Swaminathan of India for his outstanding research in rice and wheat which lead to green revolution in the world. During 2014 also Dr Sanjaya Rajaram of Indian origin got this prize. Rtn A G Sharnappa welcomed the gathering , vote of thanks was done by Rtn Dr C S Karmudi.
                     Sri Krishna D Udapudi C E O  Zilla panchayat koppal , Sri Padmaya Naik Joint Director of Agriculture Koppal,  Rotary Club Secretary Dr Srinivasa Hyati, Prabhugouda Patil President of Agricultural inputs Dealers Association Koppal, Secretary Sri Channasetty were on the dias to witness the occasion.
                     More than 500 catagorised audience including agriculture and allied Department officials were present to mark the world food day.
